Hey everyone! I'm so sorry that I haven't posted anything on my blog for a while. I have been having problems with my computer space being full, so it was kinda hard to get the pictures on from my phone. Anyway, I have a TON of pictures from our vacation to Cancun (Playa del Carmen). We went to a resort called Sandos Caracol Eco Resort & Spa. IT WAS THE BEST!!! I loved it so much there! Every single person you walked by said "Hola!" and everyone was so nice! We met so many new people and it was just great. If you are going to Cancun area, definitely consider this resort- it is amazing. Now I'm done raving, so enjoy the pictures and have a great day! Happy Friday! :)
Lots of smiles! So excited to hop on the plane and head to Cancun! (Houston first, then Cancun :)

Here is my outfit for the airport and on the plane... grey shirt, striped button-up (similar), and black leggings. I think being in comfy clothes for traveling is a good idea. We all know it would be very uncomfortable wearing lots of accessories or a skirt/dress on a plane, plus going through security and, all the other stuff you have to worry about.
Above are all of my "airport essentials!" I of course need my Baby Lips and water! (not to mention boarding pass and passport).
I LOVE FLYING! (and window seats! ;)

This is our first full day in Cancun! Of course we went to the beach first. (The night we got there, it was late and dark, but we had to see the beach anyway! But this is the first pic I took there :)

This was our favorite place to hang out! It was the snack bar called El Nido. You get your food, then sit on swings to eat!

At El Nido, these things ^^^ were everywhere! They were so cute haha. One would come up and try to steal your fries, and if you gave it to them, ten more would run out and try to get food! They are called Coatis. We loved them!
Our first dinner at a Tepanyaki type restaurant, our chef was cooking the rice and shaped it into this ^ It was so cute! We all loved it!
The drinks on the beach here are amazing... You could walk up to the hut and get a drink any time you wanted. Our favorites were Pina Colada, Mango Daiquiri, and Chichen-itza. (Not sure how to spell it?) They were so good......
This is a park outside of the resort called Xplor. There's also Xcaret, Xhel-Ha, Xichen, Zenotes, Xoximilco, but we didn't go attend any of those. It is a huge park that includes ziplines, jeeping, swimming or rafting through caves, and more. It was way fun! This is what we had to climb up to get to the top of the zipline. There were ten short ziplines that we went on. We started at the very top, rode down to a little hut, then they would unhook your zipline and put it on a different one and we were on our way to the next hut. It was a lot of fun! Below is one of the "huts" that we had to climb up to get to the next zipline. I loved how it looked!
Here is the jeeping. There is a trail to follow that goes through water, caves, and trees. It is so much fun. There is also a dry one that doesn't go through water. Those were a big hit- everyone loved them!

The heart of Xplor!
Here is the cute bus we got to ride back to the resort in! I just had to take a pic!
Another thing the resort offered were shows every night at 8:30. Every night was different, but they were all awesome! This was the first show we went to, and it was so cool! There was also a Michael Jackson show on Halloween and let me tell you, it was the best thing ever! Someone dressed up like MJ and was lip syncing to his songs. It was so cool! I felt like I was really in a Michael Jackson concert- special effects and all. They did a great job! (look on my personal insta account for a picture and video of the MJ one @slee62899)
Here is the Mayan show ^
This is the Mariachi band that sang to us at dinner. It was so fun!
At Sandos Caracol, they had cenotes that we could swim and snorkel in. There, I took my Lifeproof case and took pictures underwater! We saw a turtle and huge fish there! They also did a show there, it was pretty cool.
A crab we saw on the beach!! :)
We spotted the Mayans from the show walking around on the beach!
What we found on the beach!
Our last couple days there, they brought two birds that could say Hola. Hahaha it was so cute.
This day, we went on a Catamaran to go snorkeling in the reef. On our way to the marina, we saw camels walking down the road. It was awesome!
Before we got on the Catamaran, we snapped a pic on the beach!
Here is a picture from our snorkeling adventure! There were fish everywhere- kinda scary!
After snorkeling, we bought a coconut to drink the water! And of course, we had to take pics with it!
I am in love with this striped rashguard from J.crew! It is the best, and definitely a staple for the beach. It was by far my most-worn item here.
Okay, here is one of my absolute favorite parts of the trip! While we were there, we got to celebrate El Dia de los Muertos (The Day of the Dead). It is a huge celebration to celebrate the people who have died. There were parades, altars, food, face painting, and other fun stuff!
We got a pic of someone who was in all of the shows!
They gave us a coconut with a candle in it, and we lit it, made a wish, and put it in the cenote. It was the coolest thing ever.
I miss this place and the people so much! We will definitely be going back!
Thanks for reading!
